| Shaolin martial artsMartial arts have swamped the West now for many years and provided a complete educational, ethical and physical means of personal growth for multitudes of youngsters. Even if it was only done for a few months, the deep ethical philosophy and values of the martial arts will last for a complete lifetime. Many do not know where these martials arts come from. The story is that the monks at the Shaolin Zen Buddhist Monastery in a place of the same name in China were not allowed to use weapons in a time of great strife and crime in China. So they developed a method of self defense that used only the hands and feet. That monastery is still in use today and tourists are taken there to see the monks in training. Too bad that the martial arts have separated from the Zen practice that gave them life. God bless all! |
| Learning martial arts not only means that you are learning a good self defense discipline. But through martial arts we are learning different cultures from different countries around the world. I must say that I would love to learn martial arts as well. But it seems to late for me. But anyway, thanks for sharing in here guys and have a great day ahead to all of you guys. ciao. |
